Home Decor Corkboard Project

I finally started my corkboard project that I posted on The Crafting Journals Facebook page this past weekend. I don’t want to rush this project so you will be seeing this project in stages. I am hoping to have it done by early next week. As we all know, life sometimes gets in the way of our well laid out plans. Please bear with me as I am also trying to make some deadlines for work, as well as pack up my son for a week of boy scout camp during a week of all star baseball games.

I opened my fabric and pulled out my rotary cutter and ruler. I layered all three of the solid fabrics together and cut them at once. I did press the fabric first to get creases out.

Here is what they looked like cut.

Lay the fabric on the inside of the corkboard and mark it with a pencil and ruler where you need to cut it to fit over the cork.

I took out the peel and stick tape so I can fold the fabric and get it ready to lay it into the center of the cork board.

I opened my yummy new Faber Castell Gelatos Kit and was impressed with the packaging and the instructions that were included in the box. Here is what you get in the kit.

Now I need to play with the Gelatos and decide if they will work on this project. I haven’t figured out where I am going to use them, but definitely want to try. I am thinking of coloring the white fabric with them, but that will require some experimenting and drying time-so we will see.

I should be able to squeeze in another hour Friday afternoon. I will post some more on this project as soon as I can!

If you are working on a project this week, please feel free to post photos on our Facebook page. I would love to see what you are doing!    Virginia

Have a Crafty Week!
