I "toadally" Love You!

Hey Crafty Friends,

One of my all time favorite stamp companies is Whippersnapper Stamps.  The stamp I used today is an oldie but a goodie.

This is a mini card that is great for a package or a gift bag.
I stamped the image on white card stock and then colored the cute little guy in with my copic markers.  After I cut the image down to size I used a yellow copic marker and went around the edges to give it a little more color.  I then matted the image on red card stock and adhered it down to the card base.
Nothing fancy on this card.  Sometimes simple is better.

Thank you for stopping by today and be sure to share your Valentines Crafiness with us on our facebook page:  The Crafting Journals

Altered Mailbox Challenge

Hey All of our Crafty Friends,

Today we have a special treat for you.  The Crafting Journal Team took on a Challenge.  I sent the team a paper mache Mail Box that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  We were to each alter the mailbox to our liking.  No special rules.

Here is our take on "Altering Mailbox".  Let us know what you think?

This breath-taking mail box was created by Darlene Kearns.

This stunning mail box was created by Elizabeth Barboza.

Love is in the Air

Hey There Friends,

Its that time of year where "Love is in the Air".  Crafting for Valentines is just as fun as crafting for Halloween or even Christmas.  Do you craft for Valentines Day?

Today I am going to share with you a card I made.  I made this card with a stamp set by Recollections that I purchased from Michael's in their Valentines section.
I stamped each of the banner panels on different colors of pattern paper and then cut out with my scissors.  The base pattern paper came from a 6 x 6 paper pad with the hearts already on them.  I added the gold foil heart to pull out more gold from the twine I have behind the banner.
Are you doing any crafting for Valentines day?  Please head over to our Facebook page and share with us what you are making.  Here is a link to our Facebook page:  THE CRAFTING JOURNALS

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick & Easy Christmas Gift #2

 Hey Friends,

Anna here again to share with you another Quick & Easy Christmas Gift.
This is a 8 oz jar that I filled with Reindeer Chow and decorated the lid.  (recipe at the bottom of this post)
I used some holiday paper from my stash that I punched out 2 1/2 inch circle to go under the rim of the lid.  Then I used some hot glue to attatch some lace & jute twine around the lid.  Finished off with a bow made out of silver pipe cleaner that was hot glued onto the lid.  And I attached a bell with hot glue to the center of the bow.
Now to package it up for that Sweet Friend.
The bag came with the mitten attached.  So I used some tags from the 6 x  paper pad and glued it onto the mitten. I punched out a small Christmas Tree and glued it onto the tag.  Then hot glued a silver pipe cleaner bow with bell onto the tag.

Reindeer Chow
24 oz White Chocolate
1 Cup Pretzel Sticks
3 Cups Rice Chex
3 Cups Wheat Chex
3 Cups Cherrios
2 Cups Holiday M & M's
&
Wax Paper

Mix all the dry items in a large bowl.

On table spread out wax paper.

Melt Chocolate then pour over the dry items and mix well.  Then pour onto wax paper and spread out until the chocolate has hardened.  Break apart and place into jars or bags for individual gifts.  Or you can place into a large bowl for a party snack.

DAY 1: Fall, Thanksgiving and Gratitude Hooplah

Hey There Friends,

Anna here from St@mpAnna Designs and I am here to share with you the First day of our Fall, Thanksgiving, and Gratitude Hooplah. We are sharing ALL week this week different things that revolve around Fall, Thanksgiving and Gratitude.  So be sure to check in EACH DAY to see what everyone has to share.

First off we here at The Crafting Journals are all THANKFUL for each and every one of our Readers.  Thank you for stopping by our Blog.  :)

Today I am sharing with you a little Gratitude book.  This book measures approx 3 3/4 inches high x 6 1/4 inches long.

On the cover I used some of my HORDED Grundge Board Alphabet by Tim Holtz to create the "MY".    Then I used various flowers and ribbon from my stash.  All the paper that is used, I am not sure of the brand but it is all FALL related for my book.  The Stamp "Gratitude" is by Inkadinkado.  I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer mist on the Gratitude.
The book is created "accordion" style.  So it doesn't necessarily open like a book.
I cut some chipboard and then wrapped it up with pattern paper to create the cover, the spine and the back.

I used these Coin envelopes from Staples for each of the pockets.  I cut off the flap that closes the envelope so it stays open all the time.  I wrapped each of the pockets with pattern paper and then glued each together and glued them to the cover and the back of the book outer area.
I used large shipping tags for the inserts and then decorated each with left over pattern paper and scraps of ribbon.  Each tag is sprayed with Tattered Angels-Glimmer Mists for a touch of color.   I numbered each tag 1-10 with stamps from my stash and there is plenty of room for some journaling.
Before I leave today I took some pictures of my past years books I have made.  (Only two of them) I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check in tomorrow for Elizabeth's post.
This book here is made from old CD's that we used to get in the mail.  Just put a large Flower on the front and I used circle punches for the "FALL" and attached to different pages through out the book.

This book is the same as the first one I shown today.  It just isn't that many pages.
